Released on May 2nd via Interstellar Audio, Holographic EP is a striking exploration of contrasts: futuristic yet organic, digital yet analog. With this project, French producer DarKYYComet invites listeners into his unique sonic world — one shaped by years of genre-hopping, experimentation, and a deep-rooted love for music in all its forms.
We caught up with him to dig into his musical journey, creative process, and the vision behind the EP.
“My love for music goes way back,” says DarKYYComet. “I’ve been through so many genres over the years, but it was around 19 when I discovered Drum & Bass — mostly the stuff from 2008 to 2012. I’m a middle school generation guy, really!”
He’s referring to that pivotal era of DnB — between the early jungle roots and today’s modern polish — when artists like Alix Perez, Spectrasoul, and Icicle were reshaping the genre’s boundaries.
It wasn’t until 2020, though, that he decided to take things further.
“I got into production by experimenting with trap, EDM, and electronic music. But after a while, I naturally found myself drawn back to Drum & Bass. That’s been my focus for the last four years.”
DarKYYComet’s influences span far beyond drum and bass — and that broad palette plays a key role in shaping his sound.
“I’m influenced by almost every artist and genre I’ve ever listened to. That’s why I enjoy blending styles. Sometimes I feel like music today can be too technical — hard for listeners to connect with. My aim is to simplify those subgenres and keep the energy, but present it differently. The same thing… but different.”
This ethos is audible throughout Holographic EP — a record that prioritizes feel over flash, groove over gridlock.
Consistency, he admits, has been the toughest challenge so far.
“Keeping up with releases — whether it’s on labels or as SoundCloud exclusives — it’s not easy. But I want people to know I’m still here. I’m no quitter. Each new release is part of showing that.”
That quiet determination has paid off, with DarKYYComet becoming a familiar presence for DJs and fans drawn to his eclectic yet grounded style.
At the heart of Holographic EP lies a question of perspective.
“I wanted to reflect how the idea of ‘futurism’ means different things to different people — often depending on your generation. This EP sits at the intersection of those ideas. A mix of the futuristic and the organic, the digital and the analog.”
It's a concept that plays out not just in the track titles or artwork, but in the textures and pacing of the music itself — gliding pads against jagged basslines, minimal percussion wrapped in evolving synthwork.
While much of his style relies on intuition and vibe, DarKYYComet has also been refining his technical approach.
“For the past two years, I’ve been experimenting deeply with compression and sidechaining. Depending on what instrument I want to bring to the front of the mix, I adjust everything around it.”
It’s a subtle but crucial detail — and one that helps his tracks breathe while retaining their impact.
The Holographic EP marks a clear moment of progression, but there’s more on the horizon.
“In June, I’ve got another EP dropping — three tracks on a drum and bass label I can’t name just yet. It’s going to be a more soulful extension of what I’m doing now, but still with that DarKYYComet signature.”
With momentum building and a clear vision for the future, it’s a name worth watching closely.

This past Friday, we welcomed Reflection, a brand new EP from Anwius, to the Interstellar Audio catalogue. It’s a thoughtful and immersive release, defined by emotive atmospheres, punchy drums, and subtle yet haunting vocals. We caught up with the Warsaw-based producer to learn more about the journey behind the project, his evolution as an artist, and what inspires him.
About 10 years ago, I saw a video of someone playing popular songs on a Launchpad. I didn’t think too hard about it—I just figured I needed one, because how hard could it be, right? Turns out, harder than I thought. I only used it maybe twice before shelving it.
But about a year later, I realised the Launchpad came with a free copy of Ableton Live, and I discovered I could make music with just that. For some reason, I got hooked. Drum and bass pulled me in quickly—mainly because of its fast tempo and the variety of sub-genres. There’s something in it for everyone.
It’s hard to put into words. Some emotions don’t quite fit into a single sentence or feeling. I try to create a sonic representation of those moments. But I also don’t like to tell people what a track “should” mean. I’d rather let the listener interpret it in their own way.
Social media, hands down. Balancing my true self with the version I share online has always been tricky. Every time I thought about posting, it felt a bit stressful, like I had to curate some version of me. I’m learning now that it’s not worth that pressure. Going forward, I want to be more real and just let the music speak.
For a while, I felt like the drums were the weakest part of my tracks. They didn’t really have the weight or presence they needed. With Reflection, I focused on improving that—making the drums more dynamic, more punchy, and making sure they actually drive the track. It made a big difference in the final sound.
Yes—especially with the vocals. I went really heavy on the reverb in some tracks, to the point where the lyrics are almost unintelligible. But that’s the point. I wanted the vocals to become part of the ambient texture instead of being upfront or literal. It adds another emotional layer that isn’t necessarily tied to specific words.
Honestly, whatever they need to. Whether it’s a sense of calm, introspection, or even just a moment to zone out—I hope it gives listeners space to feel something. The details and meaning are theirs to discover.
Reflection by Anwius is out now on all platforms. Let the textures wash over you—and don’t forget to follow Anwius on socials to stay tuned for what’s next.
